Connect Mangobeds to AI tools with MCP: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and more

Your bookings, availability and guests shouldn’t be locked behind a dashboard. With the MCP app, Mangobeds connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any AI assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol, so you can ask about your property in plain language and get answers straight from your live data.

This guide explains what MCP is, what you can ask, and how to connect your favourite AI tool.

Why connect Mangobeds to AI?

Your property data is most useful when you can just ask for it. Instead of clicking through reports, you open the AI assistant you already use and ask a question. Mangobeds answers from your live bookings, availability and accommodations.

  • Ask your data anything: questions like “Which guests check in this weekend?”, “How is occupancy next month?” or “Find the booking for Andrés”, answered from your live Mangobeds data.
  • Use the AI tool you already have: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and other MCP-compatible assistants all connect the same way.
  • One secure connection: your organization API key authorizes the assistant, and it only ever sees the data you ask for.
  • No code required: copy your MCP URL and API key from Mangobeds, paste them into your AI tool, and you are done.

What is MCP?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard introduced by Anthropic that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data in a consistent way. Think of it as a universal adapter between an AI assistant and the apps you run your business on. It is now supported across the major AI assistants, so one connection works in many tools.

Mangobeds runs an MCP server for your property. Once you connect it, your AI assistant can read your data on demand, using your API key for access.

What you can ask

The Mangobeds MCP server gives your assistant a set of read tools, so you can ask things like:

  • Bookings: “Show the bookings checking in this week” or “Find the reservation for Maria Lopez”.
  • Availability: “Which rooms are free next weekend?” or “What is my occupancy in August?”
  • Accommodations: “List my room types and their prices.”
  • Property: “What currency and check-in time is this property set to?”

Right now the assistant reads and answers about your data. Actions like creating bookings are on the way.

Connect Claude

Claude, both Claude Desktop and Claude Code, is the reference MCP client and the quickest way to start.

Step 1: Get your connection details

In Mangobeds, go to Apps > MCP. Copy the MCP server URL, then generate and copy your API key on the same page.

Step 2: Add the server to Claude

Add Mangobeds as an MCP server in Claude, replacing the placeholders with your own URL and key:

npx mcp-remote https://api.mangobeds.com/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"

Use the exact URL shown on the MCP page in Mangobeds.

Step 3: Restart and ask

Restart Claude. The Mangobeds tools become available. Try “Show my bookings for this week” to confirm it works.

Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT supports custom MCP connectors on its paid plans. In ChatGPT, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector (the exact wording can vary), enter the MCP server URL from Apps > MCP, and add an X-API-Key header with your API key. Save, and the Mangobeds tools become available in your chats.

Connect Cursor, Windsurf and other tools

Any MCP-compatible client connects the same way: point it at your Mangobeds MCP server URL and pass your API key in the X-API-Key header. In Cursor, Windsurf or VS Code, add a new MCP server in the app’s settings and paste the same values you used for Claude. If your tool expects a command, the npx mcp-remote line above works there too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data safe?

Yes. The assistant authenticates with your organization API key and can only read your own property data. You can revoke the key at any time from Apps > MCP, which immediately cuts off access.

Which AI assistants work?

Any assistant that supports MCP, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code. New clients are adding support regularly, and they all use the same URL and API key.

Do I need a developer?

No. Connecting is copy and paste: your MCP URL and API key from Mangobeds into your AI tool.

Can the assistant change my bookings?

Today the assistant reads and answers about your bookings, availability and accommodations. Write actions like creating bookings are coming.
