Northliving is a coliving in Sweden, on Höga Kusten, the High Coast, a stretch of fjords, forest and islands on the east coast. Sarah, originally from Germany, runs the house on her own for remote workers and digital nomads who come to work from the coast and end up hiking, swimming and cooking together.
One house, one host, and a guest list that keeps in touch long after checkout. That is the shape of the business, and it is why Sarah moved Northliving onto Mangobeds.
Swedish bookkeeping has its own rules for what an invoice has to look like, so Sarah writes her own invoices and sends them by hand. She built a manual communication in Mangobeds to do it, but the first version could not carry an attachment, so the invoice still went out through her own mail client, copied over for every guest.
She told us. Twenty-five days later, manually sent communications could carry an attachment: upload the invoice to the booking’s Documents tab, tick it when you send the communication, and the guest gets it in their portal. Sarah had already found the new button on her own by the time we wrote back.
With one person running the house, the automatic guest communications carry a lot of the weight: check-in details, house rules and reminders go out without Sarah writing them each time. The booking form’s adjustable options let her set the stay up the way a small coliving actually runs, not the way a hotel does.
Sarah needed a system flexible enough for a one-house, one-host coliving, with invoicing that could follow Swedish rules and no team to pass the admin to.
