How to Block Unit Availability in Mangobeds

Managing your property’s availability is crucial for ensuring your units are booked according to your schedule. Whether you need to take units offline for maintenance, renovations, or any other reason, Mangobeds makes it easy to block unit availability directly from your dashboard. Follow these steps to block your units:

Step-by-Step Guide to Block Units

  1. Log into Your Mangobeds Account
    • Start by logging into your Mangobeds account to access your property management dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Bookings Section
    • On the left-hand sidebar, find and click on the Bookings section. This will take you to your reservations and availability calendar.
  3. Click on “Block Units”
    • Within the Bookings section, locate the Availability tab at the bottom right of the screen. Click on it to view and manage the availability of your units.
  4. Select the Date Range
    • A pop-up will appear asking you to select the dates for which the units should be unavailable. Choose the start and end dates by clicking on the calendar icons and selecting the appropriate dates.
    • Important, if the units are already blocked for that period or some dates of that period, then it won’t work. If you block a unit from Friday to Sunday then you can not block it from Monday to Sunday. You will have to block it from Monday to Friday.
  5. Add Notes (Optional)
    • If necessary, you can add notes to specify the reason for blocking the units. This can be useful for record-keeping or for communicating with your team.
  6. Select the Units
    • Expand the list under Units to see all available units. Click on the units you wish to block, or use the Select all option if you need to block all units within a certain category.
  7. Save Your Changes
    • After selecting the units and setting the date range, click the Save button. Your units will now be marked as unavailable for the specified period.
  8. Sync with External Systems and OTAs
    • Once you block the units, the iCal links and channel manager connections with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) will automatically update. This ensures that those units are shown as unavailable on all connected platforms for the blocked dates. This is crucial for avoiding overbookings and ensuring your property’s availability is accurately reflected across all systems. More information and guidance here
