Google Analytics Reports in Mangobeds
3 min read
Google Analytics reports in Mangobeds show what your website visitors do, right next to your bookings: how many people visit, which pages they read, where they come from and how many of them reach each step of your booking form. You see it all in Mangobeds, without opening Google Analytics.
It is part of marketing tracking in Mangobeds. The tracking guides send your booking steps to Google; these reports bring the numbers back.
What You Need
- A Google Analytics 4 property for your website. If you do not have one yet, our Google Analytics and Google Ads guide shows how to connect it to your booking form first.
- A Google account that can open that property. Being able to view its reports is enough, because Mangobeds only reads them.
- The Marketing Tracking app connected. The Reports tab appears once the app is connected for your property.
Connecting Your Google Analytics Reports
Go to your property’s Apps section, open Marketing Tracking and choose the Reports tab. Click Connect Google Analytics.
Google opens a window. Sign in with the Google account that can open your website’s Google Analytics, and allow Mangobeds to see your Google Analytics data.
Back in Mangobeds, pick your Google Analytics property from the list and click Show reports. Only the properties your Google account can open are listed. If the list is empty, you signed in with a different account: click Disconnect and connect again with the right one.
What the Reports Show
Choose the last 7, 28 or 90 days at the top. Each report then shows that period:
- Visitors, visits, bookings and booking revenue: the totals for the period. Bookings and revenue come from the booking steps your form sends to Google Analytics.
- Booking funnel: how many visitors searched dates, saw free rooms, picked a room or extra, reached the details step, went on to pay and booked. Each step shows its share of the first one, so you see where guests drop off.
- Most viewed pages: the pages of your website people open most.
- Where visitors come from: visits by source, such as Google search, Instagram or a newsletter, with the bookings each source brought.
- First page of a visit: the page people land on when they arrive.
- Where visitors go next: the most common moves from one page of your website to another.
The numbers refresh every few hours, so a visit from a minute ago may not show yet. Google Analytics itself also takes a while to process new data.
When the Booking Funnel Is Empty
The visitors and pages come from your website’s own Google Analytics, but the booking funnel, bookings and revenue need your booking form to send its steps there too. Add your GA4 Measurement ID in the Marketing Tracking app’s Settings tab, and use the embed code from Mangobeds on your website. New bookings then show up in the funnel.
Changing or Removing the Connection
- Change property: pick another Google Analytics property your account can open.
- Disconnect: removes the access Mangobeds has to your Google Analytics. You can also remove it from your Google account’s security settings at any time.
- Reconnect: if Google stops giving Mangobeds access, for example because the account lost access to the property, the Reports tab asks you to connect again.
Mangobeds can only read your Google Analytics reports, never change them. Your tracking settings, your website and your Google Analytics stay exactly as they are.
