RemoteLOCK Japan Connection Guide with Mangobeds

RemoteLOCK Japan is one of the most widely used smart lock platforms in Japan, found on guesthouses, apartments and vacation rentals across the country. A single RemoteLOCK Japan connection lets Mangobeds issue a key for every stay, on every RemoteLOCK device in your account.

What Mangobeds can do with RemoteLOCK Japan:

  • Fetch your device list automatically
  • Issue a PIN code for each guest stay, valid only for that stay
  • Update the key when the booking dates change
  • Cancel the key when the booking is cancelled

Setting Up RemoteLOCK Japan

Step 1: Open the Smart Locks App

In your Mangobeds dashboard, go to Apps and select Smart Locks.

Step 2: Connect

Click Get Started and select RemoteLOCK as your provider. Instead of typing credentials, click Connect with RemoteLOCK. A window opens where you sign in to your RemoteLOCK account and authorize Mangobeds. Once you approve, the window closes on its own and your devices appear in Mangobeds. There are no API keys to copy.

Before you connect: make sure your property has its timezone and check-in / check-out times set in Settings > Property. RemoteLOCK keys are valid for your real check-in to check-out hours, so Mangobeds needs these to set each key’s window. If they are missing, the Connect button will ask you to add them first.

Step 3: Link Units to Devices

You’ll see a list of all your units. For each unit, select a device from the dropdown (pulled from your RemoteLOCK account) and click Link.

Step 4: Let Mangobeds Do the Rest

About 48 hours before each guest’s check-in, Mangobeds creates a booking in RemoteLOCK for that device and gets back the guest’s key. The key is valid from your property’s check-in time on the arrival day to your check-out time on the departure day, in your property’s timezone. Send it to your guest with the access-code variable in your check-in email. Date changes and cancellations are handled automatically too.

Most RemoteLOCK devices give a PIN code, and that is what the guest receives. If a device does not use PIN codes, the guest receives RemoteLOCK’s access key link instead, which shows them how to open the door.

Managing Keys

Editing a key: Click Edit to change check-in or checkout dates. Mangobeds updates the booking in RemoteLOCK automatically.

Revoking a key: Click Revoke. Mangobeds cancels the booking in RemoteLOCK and the guest can no longer use the key.

Device details: Click Details to see the device name and serial number.

Requirements

  • An active RemoteLOCK Japan account with your devices already set up in it
  • A RemoteLOCK plan that allows API access for connected services
  • You authorize Mangobeds by signing in to RemoteLOCK during setup (no API keys to manage)
  • Your property’s timezone and check-in / check-out times set in Mangobeds (Settings > Property), used to set each key’s valid hours

Every lock, in one place

Access codes work the same way whatever lock you use: Mangobeds creates them a couple of days before check-in and sends them to the guest with the {{ACCESS_CODES}} variable in any communication.
