TTHotel Connection Guide with Mangobeds
4 min read
TTHotel is the hotel edition of TTLock, made by the same company (Sciener). Where the TTLock app manages locks one by one from a phone, TTHotel runs a whole property from a Windows program: buildings, floors, rooms, staff roles and a card encoder at the front desk. The locks are the same hardware, but each lock belongs to one platform or the other, which is why Mangobeds offers a separate TTHotel connection.
Once connected, Mangobeds can:
- Fetch the room locks from your TTHotel account, with their building and floor
- Generate a door code for each booking, valid from check-in to check-out
- Push the code to the lock through its gateway, with nothing to type at the desk
- Update the code when the booking dates change
- Revoke the code on cancellation or check-out
A TTHotel gateway is required for every lock Mangobeds manages. Without one, codes cannot be pushed to the lock, changed or removed remotely, so those locks cannot be linked.
Before you start: get the integration details from TTHotel
TTHotel gives each hotel its own set of API details. You do not need a TTLock developer account. On the computer where you run the TTHotel program:
- Log in as the hotel administrator.
- Open Settings, then Integration. If you do not see Integration, update TTHotel to the latest version first.
- Apply for integration if it is not switched on yet.
- Click Copy. You get four values: client_id, client_secret, username and password.
The password in that export is a 32-character code that TTHotel generates for integrations. It is not the password you log in with, so paste it exactly as it comes. You may also find these details in your TTHotel phone app.
Setting It Up
Step 1: Open the Smart Locks App
In your Mangobeds dashboard, go to Apps and select Smart Locks.
Step 2: Connect
Click Get Started and select TTHotel as your provider. Paste the four values from the TTHotel export:
- client_id and client_secret
- username and password, as exported
Click Connect. Mangobeds signs in to the TTLock cloud with your hotel’s details and fetches your lock list.
Step 3: Link Units to Locks
You will see a list of all your units. For each unit, pick the matching room lock from the dropdown and click Link. The locks carry the names you gave them in TTHotel, so a room called 301B in TTHotel shows as 301B here.
Only locks connected to a gateway can be linked. When linking, any codes already on that lock are imported into Mangobeds.
Step 4: Let Mangobeds Do the Rest
That is it. From here on, Mangobeds creates a code about 48 hours before each guest’s check-in, updates it if the dates move, and revokes it on cancellation.
You can still create a code manually from the Passcodes panel at any time, for a maintenance visit or an access outside a booking.
Good to know
Where the codes show up. Codes created by Mangobeds are on the lock and in Mangobeds. TTHotel keeps its own database for what its front desk issues, so they do not appear on the TTHotel Windows screen. Staff can see them in the TTHotel phone app under the lock.
Key cards stay in TTHotel. Mangobeds issues door codes. Cards are still written at your front desk with the TTHotel card encoder, as today.
One platform per lock. A lock is either in TTHotel or in the TTLock app, never both. If some of your locks live in the TTLock app, they belong to the TTLock connection instead. A property can only have one smart lock provider connected at a time.
Managing Keys
Editing a key: Click Edit to change check-in or check-out dates. The code’s validity is updated on the lock through the gateway.
Revoking a key: Click Revoke to delete the code. It is removed from the lock right away.
Lock details: Click Details to see the battery level, the gateway status, and the building and floor the lock sits in.
Requirements
- A TTHotel account with your locks already added through the TTHotel app
- A recent TTHotel Windows program with the Settings > Integration menu
- A TTHotel gateway connected to every lock you want to manage from Mangobeds
Every lock, in one place
Access codes work the same way whatever lock you use: Mangobeds creates them a couple of days before check-in, makes them valid from before check-in until after check-out, and sends them to the guest with the {{ACCESS_CODES}} variable in any communication.
