Brevo Connection Guide with Mangobeds

The Brevo integration connects your property to your Brevo list, so every guest who books joins it automatically, with their name, and your guest data stays in the EU.
Why hosts pick Brevo
For European operators, where guest data is stored has stopped being a theoretical question. Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, is a French company and keeps your contacts in the EU, which is a straightforward answer to give when a guest or a partner asks.
It also bundles a CRM with the email side rather than selling it separately. If you track enquiries and repeat guests as much as you send campaigns, that combination does more for you than a pure newsletter tool.
What the Brevo integration does
- Every confirmed booking adds the guest to the list you choose, with their first and last name in the standard FIRSTNAME and LASTNAME attributes.
- Your existing guests come across with one button in the app settings.
- Your list is visible inside Mangobeds, including who has opted out.
- Opt-outs are never overwritten. Adding a blocked contact to a list again does not unblock them.
Step by step: connect Brevo to Mangobeds
- In Brevo, open your account menu, then SMTP & API, then API keys, and create one. It starts with
xkeysib-. - In Mangobeds, go to Apps > Email Marketing and pick Brevo.
- Paste the key.
- Choose which list your guests should join, from the lists already in your account.
- Connect, then open Settings and run Sync guests now once to bring your existing guests across.
One thing Brevo does not do here yet
Unlike Mailchimp and MailerLite, the Brevo integration does not offer a confirmation step. Brevo’s double opt-in runs through a separate endpoint that requires a confirmation template configured in your own account and fails without one. Rather than show you a toggle that quietly does nothing, we left it out until it is built and tested properly, so guests are added to your list directly.
If asking guests to confirm before you email them matters to you, and under GDPR it is worth taking seriously, MailerLite and Mailchimp support it today. You can also run Brevo’s own confirmation flow from inside Brevo.
Frequently asked questions
Will a returning guest create a duplicate?
No. Brevo matches on the email address, so a second booking updates the existing contact instead of adding another.
Can this unblock someone who opted out?
No. Mangobeds never sends the emailBlacklisted flag, so a contact who opted out stays opted out. Adding them to a list again does not change that.
What happens if I disconnect?
New bookings stop being added. Everyone already on your list stays there, because the list lives in your Brevo account and belongs to you.
