Expedia Channel Manager Connection Guide
1 min read
To connect Expedia to your Mangobeds property via the Channel Manager, follow these steps:
- Request connection from Expedia
- Log in to the Expedia Extranet and go to Rooms and Rates → Connectivity Settings.
- Expedia usually requires 2-factor authentication to access this page.
- Choose Channex for both “Connectivity” and “Bookings.”
- Add Expedia channel in Mangobeds
- Go to Apps → Channel Manager. You land on the Channels tab.
- Click Connect and pick Expedia.
- Enter your Hotel ID (your Expedia property ID). You can also set a Price adjustment to sell at a different price on Expedia than on your own site, for example to cover its commission.
- Click Test connection — once Expedia recognises the property, continue to mapping.
- Map rooms
- Point each Expedia room type at one of your accommodations. Rates and guest counts are matched up for you behind the scenes.
- Map every room; a room left as “Not mapped” is not sold through Mangobeds.
- Click Create channel. The channel is created inactive, so nothing is synced yet.
- Activate the connection
- Open the channel’s menu and choose Activate.
- A full sync will run, sending all prices, availability, and restrictions to Expedia.
Before you connect any channel
Currency, rates and restrictions are set once for every channel, not per OTA, and it is worth getting them right before you connect. Read the channel manager guide for that setup and for every other channel Mangobeds connects to.
