VRBO Channel Manager Connection Guide

Before you connect, review your settings in Mangobeds. Once the channel is active, Mangobeds is the source of truth: your prices, availability, minimum stay and maximum stay are sent to VRBO and replace what is set there, and anything you change on VRBO is overwritten on the next sync. Set the minimum and maximum stay in Channel Manager → Settings (top right), and check each accommodation’s prices, before you activate the channel.

Supported currencies: USD, CAD, EUR, AUD, NZD, JPY, SGD, BRL, MXN, GBP

Important checks before connecting

  • Make sure the VRBO account is not API-connected to previous software
  • If it was connected to another PMS:
    • Contact VRBO support and ask them to convert the account back to a normal account
    • Payments must be by VRBO
  • Remove all iCal connections
    iCal will overwrite data sent by the Channel Manager

What stays the same on VRBO

  • Your booking type. Connecting does not change your VRBO listings or their settings. A listing on 24-hour confirmation (request to book) stays on request to book; it is not switched to Instant Book.
  • Your account. Your VRBO account stays a normal owner account while the channel is connected and after you remove it. You do not need to contact VRBO support when you disconnect.

How to connect VRBO

1. Sign in to VRBO

  1. Open Apps → pick Channel Manager. You land on the Channels tab.
  2. Click Connect and pick VRBO.
  3. Enter your VRBO Username and Password and click Sign in to VRBO.
  4. VRBO texts a code to the phone on the account. Enter it to finish the sign-in.
  5. Click Test connection. Once VRBO recognises the account, you can continue.

2. Mapping & activation

  • Click Continue to mapping and pick the VRBO listing each of your accommodations is sold as. An accommodation left as “Not mapped” is not sold through Mangobeds.
  • Click Create channel. The channel is created inactive, so nothing is synced yet.
  • When you are ready, choose Activate in the channel’s menu to start syncing.

Before you connect any channel

Currency, rates and restrictions are set once for every channel, not per OTA, and it is worth getting them right before you connect. Read the channel manager guide for that setup and for every other channel Mangobeds connects to.
