Airbnb Channel Manager Connection Guide
4 min read
Warning: once your listings are mapped and the channel is active, the prices set in Mangobeds are sent to Airbnb and replace whatever prices the listings had there. Before you map, double-check that every accommodation’s pricing in Mangobeds is correct. If you want to sell at a higher price on Airbnb than on direct bookings, for example to cover Airbnb’s host fee, do not edit the prices on Airbnb itself (the next sync overwrites them): use the Price adjustment at the top of the Airbnb listings screen to increase the Airbnb price by a percentage or a fixed amount on top of your Mangobeds rates. It applies to every listing on the account; if your listings need different amounts from one another, contact us at support@mangobeds.com.
Login to the Airbnb Account
You must connect with the Airbnb account that owns the listings, not a co-host account. Airbnb only exposes listings to channel managers through the owner account, so if you sign in as a co-host the connection completes but no listings appear to map (Count: 0). If you manage the property as a co-host, ask the listing owner to do the connection, or have them sign you in with the owner credentials.
To connect Airbnb it works with an Oauth model, this means you need to have login access to the owner account to be able to connect it to Mangobeds.
Make sure you are logged in to the correct Airbnb account (the owner of the listings) before you try to connect.
Create Airbnb Channel in Mangobeds
- Open Apps → pick Channel Manager. You land on the Channels tab.
- Click Connect and pick Airbnb.
- Click Continue to Airbnb. A new tab opens on Airbnb: check it is signed in to the account that owns the listings, and approve the connection. That tab brings you straight back to Mangobeds with the listing mapping open. If you already approved it and the channel does not appear, refresh the page.
- If another channel manager or PMS is already connected to that Airbnb account, the connection will not complete. Remove it first: Airbnb Account settings > Privacy > Connected services > Remove access.
- Point each listing at one of your accommodations:
- Airbnb holds one nightly price per listing, so Mangobeds sends the accommodation’s base rate (its 1 guest price). If your prices depend on how many guests stay, set how much to charge per extra guest in the listing’s Price settings, under Guests included and Price per extra guest.
- Keep those accommodations on Flexible – depends on guests number in Mangobeds. Airbnb only takes the one guest price from it, but Booking.com, Expedia, Hostelworld, Agoda and your own booking form use the full ladder. Switching the accommodation to a fixed price to suit Airbnb charges every guest the same everywhere else, which is almost never what you want.
- Each accommodation can only be sold as one listing, so one you have already picked further up the list is greyed out.
- If a Mangobeds accommodation with several units maps to one listing, change the listing type on Airbnb from House to something else; a House listing gets fully blocked by a single booking.
- Fine-tune each listing from the menu next to it, which holds its Price settings (base price, extra guest price, long stay discounts), Availability settings and Promotions:
- To set a booking cut-off for Airbnb (block bookings shortly before arrival), open the listing’s Availability settings and set Advance notice. Airbnb counts it in hours, so 48 = 2 days. The cut-off in the channel manager settings does not propagate to Airbnb.
- Press Save. Then activate the channel from its menu on the Channels tab to start syncing rates, availability and new bookings.
- Optional: import existing reservations with Pull bookings, or push everything again with Full sync, both in the channel’s menu.
That’s it—rates, availability, and reservations are now synced in real time.
Note: There is a minimum price on Airbnb of $10 per night
Troubleshooting: nothing happens when clicking “Continue to Airbnb”
When you click Continue to Airbnb, a new tab or window should open on Airbnb so you can confirm the connection. If nothing pops up, your browser is most likely blocking the redirect — usually a popup blocker, a browser extension, or a cache issue.
Try these in order:
- Allow popups for Mangobeds in your browser (and pause any ad blocker or privacy extension), then click Continue to Airbnb again.
- Open Mangobeds in an incognito/private window, sign in, go to Channel Manager → Connect → Airbnb, and click Continue to Airbnb from there.
- Try a different browser (for example switch from Chrome to Firefox or Safari) and repeat the steps.
If it still doesn’t open, contact us at support@mangobeds.com.
Before you connect any channel
Currency, rates and restrictions are set once for every channel, not per OTA, and it is worth getting them right before you connect. Read the channel manager guide for that setup and for every other channel Mangobeds connects to.
